Anglian Water Thriving Communities Fund

WNCAN comment: relatively large grants available over a 5 year period for nature nurturing, reducing flood risk and community wellbeing projects

"Over the next five years, we’ll be putting £5.8m of shareholder funds into projects that improve the water environment and bring real social benefits to our region. This aligns closely with our purpose, and we’re excited to work alongside local communities to help them make the most of the fund. Whether it’s shaping spaces that enhance wellbeing and reduce flood risk, improving water quality, or helping local species thrive, there are countless ways this fund can help communities flourish.

Application for grants between £10,000 and £100,000 can be made and there's a two stage application process for grants over £50,000. We aim to distribute £1.5m in the first 12 months.

The Thriving Communities fund opens for applications from across the Anglian Water region on Monday 10 November 2025. The first round will close on Sunday 1 February 2026.
